Takayama Village’s cool climate shines clearly through this wine. There’s a slight greenness that points squarely to the Merlot-Cab blend, accompanied by a good dose of dark fruit and wet soil that completes the package. Yet, the wine remains in a school of its own, and breaks many of the known conventions of such a blend - truly an expression of Japanese terroir.
