This is one of the most aromatic expressions of Sauvignon Blanc I’ve had, in sparkling form no less. Unlike other parts of Nagano, Haramura sits high up in the mountains closer to the border with Yamanashi, and thus experiences different conditions from other areas like Tomi or Komoro. 2024 was great for Haramura in particular, with good ripeness and acidity, as well as little disease. It’s under these conditions that bubbles with such a strong character could be produced.
