Hatano-san makes lots of wine, not just for himself, but also others as part of his custom crush business. Amongst all these wines stands his “Grand” series, which true to the name stands head and shoulders above the rest. Careful viticulture and the most rigorous of standards has allowed grapes to be harvested at optimal ripeness, while judicious use of oak adds meat to the wine’s firm acidic backbone. Absolutely stunning stuff.
